1. Parents must be active registered members of St. James for at least 6 months.
2. If the parents are not active registered members of St. James, they must be actively registered in another catholic parish and must bring a letter stating they are active members of the parish and since when.
3. The documents required in order to baptize are as follows: child’s birth certificate, parent’s IDs and sponsors marriage certificate through the Roman Catholic Church. If the sponsors are single, we will need their birth certificate, ID, Baptism, Communion and Confirmation certificates. The sponsor must be completely single and NOT LIVING WITH SOMEONE, if they are then they CANNOT be sponsors. All of the documentation must be present in order to set a baptism date.
4. Parents and sponsors MUST ATTEND a Pre-Baptismal Class (NO EXCEPTIONS), which takes place on the Thursday before the date scheduled to baptize. Classes begin at 6:45pm but parents and sponsors must arrive 15 minutes before the start of the class.
5. A $10.00 donation is required from parents and godparents, per person, the day you come and book the Baptism for the Baptismal Class Certificate.
6. A donation of $20.00 is requested from the godparents on the day of the baptism.
7. The sacrament of Baptism is celebrated every Saturday at 9:30AM, except the first Saturday of the month. You must arrive 15 minutes before the celebration begins.
8. To register the child for baptism you must come 3 weeks in advance.
9. Only parents are allowed to make baptismal preparations.
1. Los padres del niño(a) deben ser miembros registrados activos de St. James por lo menos 6 meses.
2. Si los padres no son miembros de St. James, deben de ser miembros activos de alguna otra iglesia católica y presentar una carta que indique que son miembros activos de esa iglesia y desde que fecha.
3. Los documentos requeridos para bautizar son los siguientes: Acta de nacimiento del niño(a), ID de los padres y el Acta de Matrimonio por la Iglesia Católica Romana de los padrinos. Si los padrinos son solteros tienen que estar completamente solteros y NO VIVIENDO EN UNION LIBRE, si están viviendo en unión libre NO PUEDEN SER PADRINOS. A ellos se les pide su acta de Nacimiento, una identificación (ID), y certificados de Bautizo, Primera Comunión y Confirmación.
4. Las padres y padrinos deben de asistir a una clase pre-bautismal, que se lleva a cabo el Jueves antes del bautizo. La clase comienza a las 6:45pm, pero deben de llegar 15 minutos antes que comienza la clase.
5. Se requiere una donación de los padres y padrinos de $10.00 por persona para el certificado de la clase Pre-Bautismal.
6. Se solicita una donación de $20.00 a los padrinos el día del bautizo
7. El sacramento del Bautismo se administra cada Sábado en la iglesia a las 9:30am excepto el primer Sábado del mes. Deben de llegar 15 minutos antes de iniciar la celebración.
8. Para inscribir al niño para el bautismo hay que venir con 3 semanas de antelación.
9. Sólo los padres pueden hacer preparativos bautismales.
1. You must present the first communion certificate at the time of making the contract.
2. You must be prepared to receive Holy Communion through confession; you are asked to confess one week before the day of its celebration. Our confession times are Tuesdays at 6:00PM and Fridays at 5:30PM. Confession is not allowed on the day of the practice.
3. Quinceañeras are required to bring a natural flower arrangement in vase for the Virgin Mary.
4. PHOTOGRAPHERS: Everyone is asked to take reverence at the ceremony. Taking photographs is allowed during the ceremony, except during the homily. They are also asked to avoid using the flash towards priests. Taking photos after the ceremony is allowed inside the church BRIEFLY AND RESPECTFULLY. (YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BRINGING YOUR OWN PHOTOGRAPHER).
5. The Church will provide the Choir.
6. You should not throw confetti, flowers, etc. inside or outside of the parish. We ask you not to chew gum or throw it on the carpet, benches, or floor. Please DO NOT bring food or drinks inside of the church.
7. There will be a mandatory practice on the Friday before the ceremony at 5:30pm at the parish. ONLY THE PARENTS AND THE QUINCEAÑERA ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE PRACTICE. The court, sponsors, etc. will not attend the practice.
8. You must arrive 15 to 20 minutes before the ceremony.
9. The donation for the ceremony is $350.00. The full balance is required to be paid one month before the event. If you change the date of the celebration there will be a cost of $25.00. If you cancel the celebration your money will not be refunded.

3. A las quinceañeras se les requiere que traigan un arreglo de flores naturales en florero para la Virgen María.
4. FOTÓGRAFOS: a todos se les pide que guarden reverencia en la ceremonia. Se permite tomar fotografías durante la ceremonia, menos durante la homilía. También se les pide de evitar el uso del flash hacia los sacerdotes. Los fotógrafos no se pueden subir al altar a tomar fotos. Se permite tomar fotos después de la ceremonia dentro de la iglesia BREVEMENTE Y CON RESPETO. (USTED ES RESPONSABLE DE TRAER SU PROPIO FOTOGRAFO).
5. La Iglesia proporcionara el Coro.
6. No deben tirar confeti, flores. etc. dentro ni fuera de la Iglesia. Les pedimos no masticar chicle, ni tirarlo en la alfombra, bancos, o en el piso. Favor de NO ingresar comida o bebidas dentro de la iglesia
7. Habrá una práctica obligatoria el Viernes antes de la ceremonia a las 5:30pm en la parroquia. SOLAMENTE SE REQUIERE QUE LOS PAPAS Y LA QUINCEAÑERA ASISTAN A LA PRÁCTICA. No asistirán damas, chambelanes, padrinos, etc. a la práctica.
8. Deben de llegar de 15 a 20 minutos antes de la ceremonia.
9. La donación por la ceremonia es de $350.00. Se requiere pagar el balance completo un mes antes de su celebración. Si cambia la fecha de la celebración habrá un costo de $25.00. Si cancela la celebración su dinero no será reembolsado.

2. Catholics need baptism, communion and confirmation certificates, birth certificates and a passport size photo of both. The baptism certificate must be dated 6 months before the wedding.
3. If you have been married before, please ask to speak with Mrs. Jenny Villegas about your process.
4. The office must receive testimony that they are free to marry; of their parents, siblings, or other witnesses.
5. The couple will have to complete 4-5 private sessions with a sponsor couple and take a natural family planning class. You will also have to attend an interview with the Priest.
6. Catholics must receive the sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) 1 to 2 weeks before the Ceremony. Confessions in our parish are on Tuesdays from 6:00pm to 7:00pm and on Fridays from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Confession will not be allowed on the day of the practice.
7. Couples who are not civilly married must obtain a marriage license at RENAISSANCE TOWER, 1201 ELM ST DALLAS TX 75270, 21st FLOOR, (214) 653-7099. You do NOT need to get married through Civil Law. If you don't bring the license, you cannot get married. Those who are already married by civil law, please bring a copy of your marriage license.
8. The arch is allowed at the entrance to the Church, but not next to the altar. The bride must bring a natural flower arrangement in vase for the Virgin Mary.
9. PRACTICE: Practice will be the day before the wedding at 5:30pm. Only the couple and parents of both of them (or those who are going to deliver them) have to show up for the practice. Since we have other ceremonies on the same day, it is important to start the practice on time. You are asked to arrive 15-30 minutes early to the ceremony. No Exceptions.
10. Throwing rice, bird food, confetti, flowers, etc., inside or outside the Church is not permitted. We ask you not to chew gum or throw it on the carpet, benches, or floor. And please DO NOT ENTER THE CHURCH WITH FOOD.

You are also asked to avoid using the flash towards the priests. Photographers are not allowed to get on the altar to take pictures. Taking photos after the ceremony inside the Church is not allowed. They can be taken outside the Church.
12. The wedding donation is $550.00 for St. James members. For non-members the donation is $650.00. The donation for community weddings is $200. If the celebration is canceled your money will not be refunded and if the date of the celebration changes, there will be a cost of $25.00 to make the change. Payment for the celebration is required one month before the celebration.
13. For the choir, please call the office, the donation is $150.00, or you may bring your own choir or mariachi.
14. It is required to bring rings, wedding lasso, arras and a Bible and rosary. The unity candles are optional. We do not require anything from the sponsors nor that they take classes.
Registration for Faith Formation classes for the year 2025-2026, will take place on Sundays, June 1, 8, 22 and 29 from 9:00am-2:00pm in the Catechism Building.
Requirements:
· The PARENTSof the child must be registered as active members of the parish for a minimum of 6 months to register their child. (You will have to go to the parish office to pick up your proof of active membership).
· You will be informed of the class schedule at the time of registration. The cost will be $80.00 per child. If you have 3 children or more the cost will be $200.00.
· Registration for First Communion: If the child is baptized you must bring the child's baptism certificate. If the child is not baptized, you must bring the child's birth certificate.
· Registration for Confirmation: You must bring the baptism and first communion certificates of the child.
Las inscripciones para las clases de Formación de Fe para el año 2025-2026, se llevarán a cabo los Domingos, 1, 8, 22 y 25 de Junio de 9:00 am-2:00pm en el Edificio del Catecismo.
Requisitos:
· Los PADRESdel niño(a) deben de estar registrados como miembros activos de la parroquia mínimo 6 meses para registrar a su hijo(a). (Tendrá que pasar a la oficina parroquial para recoger su comprobante de miembro activo).
· Los días y los horarios de las clases se darán a conocer al momento de las registraciones. El costo será de $80.00 por niño(a). Si tiene 3 niño(a)s o más el costo será de $200.00.
· Registración para Primera Comunión: Si esta bautizado deben de traer el certificado de bautismo del niño(a). Si no esta bautizado deben de traer la acta de nacimiento del niño(a).
· Registración para Confirmación: Se debe de traer los certificados de bautizo y primera comunión del niño(a).
